The Rural Municipality of La Broquerie will be saying good-bye to Reeve Claude Lussier as elections take place Wednesday evening and a new candidate is voted in.

Lussier served a four-year term and says is was an enjoyable experience as reeve, however feels it's time to move on. Lussier adds it's been a time in his life where he's learned a lot.

“Actually, I probably learnt more here than I did at any course or any university I went to. I'm sad to leave, but I'm 65, I want to go back to university, I want to be with my grandchildren.”

Lussier jokingly laughs while saying he's moving because he loves congestion and smog so Montreal seemed like the perfect fit. While in Montreal Lussier notes he will be attending university, hopes to learn Spanish and wants to travel through Eastern Europe.

When asked if he plans to ever return to La Broquerie Lussier says he came here as an adventure and doesn't know what the future may hold.

Polls open at 8:00am on Wednesday, October 22nd and close at 8pm.
