Manitoba Hydro says an electrical outage here in the southeast Monday was likely caused by farm equipment. Public Affairs Manager Scott Powell says the outage occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the Blumenort, Landmark and Linden areas.
"The nature of the outage is what we call an 'over voltage' on a couple of distribution lines that crossed a highway. That led us to suspect that the cause of the outage may have been contact with farm equipment that exceeded the safe height limit. However, as none of our staff witnessed it, we're really not able to confirm that that was in fact the cause."
Powell says about 900 customers were affected by the outage. Power was restored by about 4:30 p.m.
